Thank you for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page in loving memory of my wonderful father, Chris de Saram. He sadly passed away on Tuesday 21 August, 2018. Although my father had been unwell for some time with heart failure, his sudden deterioration was a devastating shock to us all. He was taken into York hospital on 13 August and passed away on the Coronary Care Unit.  The care he received in hospital and the sensitivity of all the staff was outstanding and we can't thank them enough for all they did to make my Dad's last few days as comfortable as possible.

My Dad had been passionate about music and a keen jazz enthusiast his whole life. After retiring from teaching - another passion of his, nurturing young talent - he dedicated the last 14 years to being Promoter of Wakefield Jazz Club. Dad's love of teaching, for the Arts and for jazz was a life-long journey. He was a gentle, loving and generous man who was absolutely one of a kind, truly loved by many and will be sorely missed by us all, especially me, his daughter Katrina.

Thank you all for your many heartfelt and loving tributes to my Dad.  They have been wonderful to read and heartwarming to know how much love and respect there was for my Dad. I am so proud of him and will miss him terribly.
