From the moment Nick was diagnosed we have been supported by the team at Princess Alice Hospice. Because Nick’s cancer was advanced when it was discovered, all of the treatment he could have was palliative so the  hospice were with us all the way. Not just in terms of Nick’s end of life care (which was compassionate and made sure he was in control) but at home support from the community nurses and also care for Maddy and I through the social worker team and carers support group.

We can’t thank them enough- they really did help us all. 

The hospice needs to raise £10.1 million through fundraising each year to continue their work. Everyone should have the option of having their final days somewhere as peaceful and caring as this, and having access to the right support which is focused on living as much as dying.
