Story

Everyone knows I can be a little emotional...someone eats my cake I get angry, any form of animal programme I cry. So I went into my tour of Hospice of St Francis with the view that I wasn't going to cry - I lasted about 10 minutes before the tears came. Let me tell you why...

...firstly let's not take for granted the AMAZING work the staff and volunteers do on an hourly basis. Secondly, it actually sank in that this is what my family and I could have had with Dad. I never fully understood what a hospice was when Dad was ill, in my head it was more like a Nursing Home and still very "clinical", and I honestly didn't understand the want and need to have him moved there. I do now. I wish they had a bed for him; the dignity they give their patients and the support they give the families is overwhelming. This is no disrespect to the NHS, they were great with us, but unfortunately they are too stretched to make it as personal.

I want to make sure that at least one family gets the opportunity that we didn't. I won't give you a list of everything I learnt but I will now be begging for your money.

So what am I doing? I am losing body fat and weight...is that laughter I hear?? Let's face it, no one is going to envy me really...I mean, who wants to be surrounded by hot, muscly, men grunting in the gym daily...ergh what a thought! ;-)

I don't want you to sponsor me to change my lifestyle, that is a personal decision that I have decided to do! I do however, want you to donate to such a wonderful charity who need every penny.

Please help show your support, donate a little, then invite me out on a walk!

Thank you!! xxx
