On Sunday 22nd September, I will be taking part in this year's Swansea 10k Run. I decided to take part in the event, firstly to get fit, but more importantly, to raise money for such a worthy cause - Ty Olwen.

The Tŷ Olwen Trust was formed in 1981 with the purpose of supporting the Tŷ Olwen Hospice, a specialist Palliative Care Unit within Morriston Hospital. Ty Olwen offer's an exceptional high standard of care and support to cancer patients and their families during such a difficult time.

Back in June this year, My Wonderful Bampa, lost his fight to cancer. My family and I spent his last week in the Ty Olwen Hospice, where we were offered  fantastic support during such a sad time. My Bampa meant so much to me and losing him has been very difficult for all of us. Therefore, I wanted to do something, in memory of him, to raise as much money as I can for the wonderful charity that gave him such tremendous care during his last few days.

I can't bring back my Bampa, and I certainly can't cure cancer, but I can try and raise as much money as I can to help support other families and cancer patients during these difficult times.
