I have volunteered in deaf sport for over 11 years, helping athletes, raising deaf awareness, incorporate sign support for some trainee physical education teachers and even giving taster deaf awareness sessions in my day job.  For me the deaf community is magical and it truly is a privilege to be part of it, however small.  In particular I witness the amazing work this charity provides for the deaf, hard of hearing and hearing community.  The relentless work this charity provides is practical and offers emotional support to overcome communication barriers and help people to remain independent. I would love to exceed my designated target as I see first hand where this money is spent and see the joy, relief and confidence that Deaf Direct facilitates.
