Story
Hi All,
So as most of you know I’ve been off of my running game for a while now post the arrival of our little monster Teddy. I have decided this year of all years is the time to try and push myself a little harder and raise money at the same time.
When Gregory was at nursery we met Rach S and her family, Gregory found his first friend with her son. Rach has MS and is as stubborn as they come and strong as can be, she can go through really rubbish times and come out with a smile. Over the last year she has shared her stories and difficult times and given people like me a kick up the bum when needed but also been there for everyone when they just aren’t ok. In sharing her ups and downs she helps so many others with MS and other chronic conditions know they aren’t on their own. Rach attends the therapy centre for therapy and to socialise with others. I have not been to the centre but I know it must be one incredible place from all I hear about it. The centre is now able to provide therapies for others with long term conditions including diabetes, long covid, cancer, fibromyalgia and other neurological and chronic conditions. The centre offers massage, oxygen therapy, physio and acupuncture and many others therapies, as well as a safe space to share stories socialise and support others. Having worked in neurology for a number of years before Teddy I know places as special as this are hard to come by and so valuable and so continued fundraising to support it is essential. This is the reason for my choice in charity. This run will be a km for each year of my life and the equivalent of a mile for each year I’ve had diabetes (my stubborn bit) . It’s going to take a lot but I am so excited to do it and for anyone who wants to join in covid rules allowing I would love to have you run with me on the day.
Any donations big or small towards my goal would be awesome.
