Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I am walking The Thames Path continuous 100k challenge with my friend Andrea who is crazy enough to take on this challenge with me, despite never having walked more than 6 miles before! She is doing amazingly!

We are walking for Cavernoma Alliance UK, a very small charity set up to support and help those with this rare disease. A Cavernoma is a cluster of abnormal blood vessels in the brain. Often, a person can have one and never know it, but on rare occasions they bleed, causing strokes or seizures.

Amy had a Cavernoma, discovered in 2020, and on 15 February 2023, she had an operation to remove it. She is lucky in that the Cavernoma was operable. Some are not, and some people can have multiple Cavernomas.

It's a frightening time when first diagnosed, and the Cavernoma Alliance UK are a wonderful support for the Cavernoma community. Please give whatever you can to support this incredibly important charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
