Story
On the 6th October Emilie (16) was galloping on the moors with some friends when her horse slipped landing on top of her, causing her to become unconscious. Emergency services struggled to get to her as the ground was so uneven and she spent around 2 hours on top of the moors before the RAF could get to her. The mountain rescue team played a massive part in keeping her and her friends around her calm and safe and were there when she was going in and out of consciousness. The repercussions of this were a lot greater than we thought. Countless trips to hospital, bouts of unconsciousness (putting herself into a coma), bleeding profusely from her ears and nose, collapsing, hours and hours of sleep a day and ultimately, a traumatic brain injury. Before this happened, I had never heard of a traumatic brain injury, nor understood how catostraphic and life changing it would be. Due to this, we are completing a 10K run in Manchester on the 28th May. Any donations made will go towards Headway, a charity that offers support those affected by the brain injury and their family. Any donation made will be so greatly appreciated ❤️
