Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 12th May I'm doing Tough Mudder (a 12 mile assault course) with a team of around 80 people. We're all doing this because one of our Friends Dan Dowen's dad is currently being treated for pancreatic cancer.
For those of you that don't know Pancreatic cancer is not a good one to get (obviously no cancer is a good thing to get). Pancreatic cancer is treated by very aggressive surgery and chemotherapy.
In Dan's father's case he has had his Pancreas and Spleen removed and is now having chemotherapy. The type of cancer he has is a very rare type ("Acinar cell" type). The problem for Dan and his father Pete is that the treatment for this cancer is not well established and they don't even know if the chemotherapy will work.
That's the reason for this event and a huge fundraising effort. We are trying to raise £100000 to fund some research into this type of cancer in order to help future families who become victims of this rare tumour.
For my part I am asking for anything you can towards this. I have left it pretty late but I've worked out that if every one of my facebook friends donates a pound I'll raise nearly a £1000 pounds - so please spare any money you can for this worthy (I know all charities are but...) cause.
Thanks,
Ramsay
