Story
I have just completed the Brussels Half-Marathon, hitting a Personal Best and “Indian World Record” of 1hr : 57min. That was my 8th race, in a running career which began only 3 years ago.
What got me running in the first place you may ask? Well, truth be told, I have always played hockey or cricket, but ever since I became an “adult” and started working, I never seemed to find the time to play those sports.
Running, seemed like the easy option!
But on a more serious note, being of Asian heritage, diabetes is a serious concern and I wanted to do my level best to ensure that I never got Type 2!
The Berlin Marathon (http://www.bmw-berlin-marathon.com/en/) takes place on the 27 September 2015 and it will be my second (but last) marathon, having completed Dublin in October 2012.
But while I still have the
legs in me, why not raise money for a worthwhile cause!
I have come to know of the British Sikh Doctors Organisation through my sister – Rashpal Kaur – who is a volunteer. The work they do is not for the Sikh people, but for the community as a whole. Using their expertise they provide a free and valuable health care service, no matter what colour or race.
