Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My leap of faith is to raise money for 40 orphans who live in the Good Shepherd's children's home in Zimbabwe.
Daily life in Zimbabwe has become extremely difficult in the
last few months as survival basics have become more expensive and more difficult to find. There is often no bread, or fuel or electricity. Each day isa battle to find food. Basic medical supplies that we take for granted, such as pain killers, syringes, bandages, cough medicines are either non -existent or too expensive to buy.
The children in this home come from nightmarish backgrounds of abuse, the death of both parents, trauma and violence. The Good Shepherd's home offers them a safe place, where they are taken care of and loved by a local pastor, his wife and a committed volunteer team. Money raised will go towards basic foods like Sadza, (a staple corn porridge), tea, oil, bread and sometimes a meat treat.Basics may also include funds for projects such as the purchase of chicks for eggs and meat or sometimes, medical supplies.
£1000 will provide food, oil and fuel for cooking, and some
medical basics for nearly 2 months.
