Rach attempts the marathon

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
I am taking on the Virgin Money London Marathon to raise vital funds to support the work of Great Ormond Street Hospital because without GOSH, I wouldn't be able to consider running the Marathon.
I was treated at GOSH for ME when I was 11. I was incredibly lucky to have been supported by the team, because of their hard work and help I was able to go back to school, travel and see the world, and go to university! I am forever indebted to them - the doctors, nurses, receptionists, admin assistants - everyone who helped me and put my life back on track.
Every day, 619 children and young people from across the UK arrive at GOSH. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs. And every day is a chance for you to make a difference. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfill their potential. A better future for seriously ill children starts here.
Running the London Marathon in aid of GOSH is something 11-year-old me would never have believed was possible, especially when I was bed bound by fatigue. The Marathon is a massive challenge but I hope I can help raise a good amount for GOSH so they can continue to do the incredible work they do and help thousands more children!
