Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have dug out my trainers and running shorts and signed up for a 10k run in aid of Small Steps, School for Parents, which helps parents to help their own children who have cerebral palsy or other forms of motor or sensory impairment. They are a tiny charity in Putney which relies totally on voluntary ad hoc donations to fund the fantastic work they do with children under 4 through weekly classes. I was delighted when they asked me to be a parent rep and trustee. If you want to find out more:

After a difficult birth Joe developed cerbral palsy which has resulted at age two and half in him not being able to independently sit, crawl or walk. But as you can see he has a delightful engaging smile, as well as a fantastic temperament and he always tries really hard to do his exercises. He loves going to Small Steps on Thursdays and his physical development, cognitive awareness and speech have all accelerated since he started there. It is a loving and supportive environment which subtlely combines an intensive programme of physical therapy with opportunities to learn and develop social, communication, sensory, creative and practical skills all to music and singing in a fun way and with a changing weekly theme ( eg the zoo, farm, trucks and building site). Things have recently got even better as Small Steps have started small swimming classes with fun and singing which Joe loves.
