Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm taking part in my first Ironman triathlon on 19th July 2015 in Bolton. It's a full triathlon and includes a 2.4 mile open water swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride & a 26.2 mile run. All to be completed within 17 hours.
I've taken on the challenge to push myself out of my comfort zone both physically and mentally. I started my training at the end of last year & have just stepped up the amount of training I do. I will be out running, cycling and swimming six days a week, throughout the winter, with the addition of some core strength work in my spare moments! I know I'll be prepared and ready for the endurance event.
I'm raising money for Scope. Scope is a charity that exists to make the UK a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else.
Scope provides support, information and advice to more than a quarter of a million disabled people and their families every year.
I hope you can sponser & support me during my participation in the endurance triathlon, and raise money for a fabulous charity.
- £12 could answer a call to our helpline from someone who desperately needs support.
- £37 could provide an in-depth follow up call with someone who needs extra support.
- £128 could pay for a visit from Scope to a family who have just found out their child is disabled and have nowhere else to turn.
Thank you,
Rachel xx
