I'm a 3rd year student at Durham University and I am one of 20 representing DUCK (Durham University Charities Komittee) on an expedition to the Himalayas this summer.

 

This is an amazing opportunity and I will have the chance to spend two weeks trekking through the Himalayas, with the possibility of reaching Everest base camp. I will then spend two weeks living with families in Nepal undertaking various projects in and around the community.

 

The Charity that our group is raising money for is Future for Nepal. This charity aims to provide an increased level of education and resources to suffice the needs of some of Nepal's most disadvantaged children.

 

The cost of the expedition and the amount that I need to raise is £2,400. £1,200 for the trip itself and £1,200 which will go straight to Future for Nepal to fund a drop-in centre and halfway home for street children living in Kathmandu, giving the children a safe place to go for help and shelter and relieving them from their daily troubles of hunger and hardship.
