Hello
Everyone,
On Sunday the 11th October I shall be running the
Birmingham EDF Half Marathon which is just over 13 miles long.
Prior to June 2009, I could not even run one mile without stopping
and somehow got pushed into doing this by my “friend” Matt! He must have asked
me on a good day!!! Without any persuasion
my friend Emma agreed to do this with me and since then we have trained 3
times a week. Training has been
difficult at times, with injuries obtained along the way but it has been worth it because
I’m now running distances/speeds I never thought I’d reach.
I am raising money for Cystic Fibrosis which is one of the ’s most common life threatening inherited diseases. There is
currently no cure for this disease and the life expectancy of a sufferer is
only 35.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a charity that funds medical and
scientific research to develop a cure and provide effective treatments for anyone
affected by Cystic Fibrosis including my cousin Shannon, so I am hoping to
raise as much money as I can. Further information about Cystic Fibrosis and the
great work the Trust do can be found at http://www.cftrust.org.uk/
Any spare pennies you can donate would be greatly appreciated,
thanks for your support.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life.
