Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My Dad was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2012.  It is thanks to the work done by Myeloma UK and the NHS he is still here with us today.

It has been a difficult 5 years for my Dad and my Mum.  He has gone through painful and exhausting treatments.  She has witnessed his pain, been by his side and kept their world turning.

So when my lovely friends asked me if I would like to run a marathon with them I thought "No, of course not!", and then I thought of my Dad, and of Myeloma UK and I heard myself saying "Yes".

Obviously, it is a bonus that it is in Rome ;-)

What is Multiple myeloma?
Multiple myeloma, is a cancer arising from plasma cells, a type of white blood cell which is made in the bone marrow.

Myeloma UK is actively involved in research and clinical trials of new drugs and drug combinations in conjunction with specialist hospitals.  It also supports patients, families and local support groups with information, newsletters and a direct support line.  Donations support this important work.
