Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I wasn't going to ask for sponsorship as, when I agreed to do this run back in June, I thought it wouldn't be too much of a challenge! How wrong could I be! It's 7 years since I last ran a 10K and in that time my body's changed A LOT - my hamstrings have siezed up, hips stopped working and lungs have shrunk. So it's been a challenge to get fit enough to run 10K.
But I'm ready to take on the challenge this Sunday, and because people have been asking me if I'm doing it for a charity, I have decided to raise money for Action Heart. My brother had a heart operation earlier this year and is getting married on 14th October, so it seemed like a fitting cause.
Action Heart provides a cardiac rehabilitation service that helps people who have suffered from a heart attack, undergone cardiac surgery, or have a cardiac related condition.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I'm really grateful for any money you can spare, it doesn't have to be much, but every little pound will help keep me going on Sunday.
Thanks,
Rachel
