Story
Hello All,
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
It was about a year ago that I was first diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis - those of you that know me will remember the 'gammy eye' phase where I only had one eye open and took to dressing as a pirate! I consider myself to be one of the lucky ones as so far it is only affecting my eyes but other people are not so fortunate.
When we signed up for the Paris marathon it seemed an ideal opportunity to raise money for the charity that provides support to Myasthenics and their families all around the country.
Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is an auto-immune disease which is characterized by fluctuating, sometimes fatal, muscle weakness. Activities taken for granted by most of us like eating food, lifting arms, speaking or even laughing can become difficult or even impossible at times for those with MG.
This will be Trevor’s first marathon and my fourth and knowing that we are raising money for a great cause will hopefully provide us with the motivation we need to get out training in the wind and rain over the winter months. I hope you can spare a few pennies to help us along the way!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks!
Rach and Trevor
