Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It’s probably too late for me to make it into the British Olympic team so I’ve decided to take up an Olympic challenge that you won’t find in London 2012 – weight loss! Myself and several work colleagues have decided to take on an Olympic Weight Loss Challenge in aid of the charities close to our hearts. We are each challenging ourselves to lose weight and my personal goal is to lose 1.5 stone in time for the Olympic opening ceremony on 27 July 2012.

Choosing a charity to benefit from my weight loss was easy!

I recently read an article stating that there will be over 1 million people with dementia in the UK by 2021 and that's a scary prospect. My grandad suffered with dementia and I know what a devastating affect it has on the person suffering from this disease but also on their family and friends.

The Alzheimer's Society provides both local information and over 2,000 services across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to people affected by dementia in their communities. The services include day care and home care for people with dementia, as well as support and befriending services to help partners and families cope with the demands of caring

Your money will help the charity to improve the quality of life for people with dementia, to research the causes of dementia and pursue a cure.

Just so you know, once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the charity and will make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

Thank you so much for your support

Rachel xx
