We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

It never occurred to me how many people are affected with Diabetes until I met Dan and his son Olly, who is Type 1 Diabetic Olly has to undergo many prick tests and 4 insulin injections everyday. He is only 6 years of age and coped amazingly well since he was diagnosed in 2008. It has made me fully aware of how diabetes affects peoples lives on a daily basis, not only the individual but the whole family.

In the last year alone, it has really been brought home how important it is that diabetes is made aware to everyone. Unfortunately a very close family friend died last year from Type 1 diabetes. I had no idea just how serious and potentially life threatening Diabetes can be.

So, this year I have decided to run the Great North Run for a charity that is close to my heart. I hope that with the support of family and friends I can raise some money that will really help to find new methods of dealing with and curing illness for the millions who suffer daily.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou.Wish me luck :-)

Rachel xx
