Hello everybody!

Lucie West was a lovely, outgoing, chatty, stunning family friend of mine. Our families met through pre-natal classes 17 years ago. Lucie passed away in July 2009 after contracting Meningitis aged 14. Her illness began during her school sports day last year, she came home with a headache and sickness. She was taken to hospital where the doctors discovered she had Meningitis. Everyone was reasured by doctors that Lucie would recover, however this was not to be and she was taken from us on July 17th 2009, two weeks after becoming sick. Lulu is missed so very much by her family, her friends and everybody who knew her, it is such a great loss.

Time for positive action....... I have decided to run the BUPA 10k on the 31st May in order to raise money for Meningitis UK appeal and in Lucie's memory.

I hope that I can gain your support by you donating some money for research into the development of a vaccine for meningitis so we can ensure that this tragedy does not occur in anybody else's lives.  

We all miss Lulu so very much.
