I'm helping to bring Christmas to UHB

4 Week Challenge - Lose Weight · 20 October 2020
Last year I spent seven weeks in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham whilst the amazing staff there saved my life from Cancer. This included the Christmas period. Fortunately, I was able to have my friends and family visit, but this is not possible this year due to Covid.
I am not fit enough to do marathons or all night Zumba, but I am able to walk and cut out my BIG temptations of the goodies (chocolate, crisps, alcohol). It’s not much, but I hope everyone who knows me will see this will not easy for me as I generally have very little willpower.
Please keep me strong in this effort and any donation, however small, would be gratefully received. If you find that fiver you’d forgotten about in your old coat, or a couple of coins at the bottom of your handbag, it all helps to make those in hospital and the staff have a better Christmas. Everyone deserves a little cheer and a smile on Christmas Day.
Being in hospital at Christmas is never easy, but this year is going to be particularly difficult for our patients across University Hospitals Birmingham as they will be unable to have their loved ones visit them. For our staff, the past year has been the hardest that they have faced in the NHS and COVID, combined with the winter pressures that our hospitals experience, will make this Christmas a difficult one for our 22,000 NHS Superheroes. This is why, more than ever, we need your support at Christmas to bring a little festive joy to our hospitals. Whether that's funding a hamper for our staff and patients to enjoy on Christmas Day, or providing Christmas trees to brighten up our hospitals, your support can make a difference.
Thank you.
