Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Although I walk miles at the weekend with my beautiful German Pointer Molly, I spend much of my working week at my desk and it can be hard to get in much exercise. I joined the CityMoves  walking challenge - https://group.health.nokia.com/corporate/citymoves -  initially to try and break the habit of sitting down too much.

Devising a plan I came up with a 40 minute walk at 5.30am, another at lunchtime and another at 8.00pm + 3 hours a day at the weekend with the dog. After week one I'd done more than 100,000 steps. Then last night the farmer over the road, who's seen me going out with my torch into the pitch blackness, challenged me to turn my efforts to better use!

I suppose I'd not thought my efforts were that noteworthy, but thinking about his challenge on my walk, I thought "what if I could walk at least a million steps before Christmas?"  Maybe people would like to support that effort and at the same time give a nice Christmas present to two amazing charities. I really hope so as this equates to 500 miles which is a little scary!

RABI and FCN both work so hard to help farming families who find themselves in dire straits. Working for the NFU, I know all to well how much work they do, supporting an industry where many would never dream of asking for help even when they are at crisis point. I would love to think my efforts could help and make a small difference.
