Tom and I completed our first ultra-marathon last year and despite how brutal it was, we're going back for more this year. We decided that we'd like to take the opportunity to raise money for a special cause and have opted to support York Against Cancer (About Us - York Against Cancer).

Like most people, Tom and I have seen cancer rip through many lives. It continues to take our loved ones from us. We're going to try to do something about that by supporting York Against Cancer. They have been funding cancer care, research and education across North and East Yorkshire since 1987.

The ultra-marathon we are hoping to complete is Race to the stones on Saturday / Sunday 9th / 10th July. It's a 100km / 62 mile non-stop run across challenging terrain in Oxfordshire and Wiltshire. We did a similar event last year and very very nearly didn't finish. We're both fairly experienced runners but it's the hardest event we have ever done. Knowing that we are supporting such a wonderful cause will give us a much needed boost when we're out there. We'll be giving a lot of thought to the people in our lives and the lives of those we love and care for who have been lost to this horrible disease.
