I was lucky enough to have the best mum in the world.

16 years ago my mum, Betty Carpenter, was diagnosed with breast cancer; yet fortunately with the excellent treatment from St George’s hospital, she made a full recovery.

Sadly, four years ago, lung cancer and a brain tumour did get the better of her.
