Dear friend,
I did it - as the picture attached will prove - I have got the medal, look exhausted and need my children to keep me standing!!!!!
It was quite an emotional experience and makes you feel quite humble - My life has been touched by cancer; my dad's life was prolonged by treatment and my youngest son would not have been born (and thus not at the finish line to give me a hug) - if it had not been for the oncology department of WGH - but the sheer scale and number of people prepared to get out there and run, jog or walk all to raise money for cancer research is quite amazing.
A huge thank you to all who have sponsored me thus far - you really kept me going when it looked like I was not going to make it!!
A polite request to those who have said - yes I will and have not got round to it yet - please I have a few days left to raise some more!
And if you now feel you can dig deep and spare a little that would be fantastic - lots of little amounts all mount up.
Thank you to all for your support - the look of pride on the kids' face says it all!!
Many thanks
Margery
Together we will beat cancer - not so sure about the terrible feeling in my legs though!!!!
