So..... My cousin Maisie, and I successfully completed a very very rainy Race for Life in Bath on Sunday 12^th June, in aid of cancer research and I would like to sincerely thank all those who have sponsored us so far, every donation makes a huge difference!

Raising money for cancer research means a lot to my cousin and I, as breast cancer has had a huge impact on our family over the last 20 years; our grandmother, both our mums and a cousin have all suffered from this horrible disease. Around 50,000 people in the UK are newly diagnosed with breast cancer each year.

However our family has been lucky, as they have all received successful treatment. We are running race for life with the aim to raise money so more women can be a success story, like our family. Race for life 2011 is ‘the year of radiotherapy’ and cancer research aims to increase understanding and awareness of this vital treatment that benefits around 120,000 cancer patients in the UK every year!!
