Story
Hey guys,
First of all, thank you for viewing our page. By this point it is clear we are about to ask you to part with your hard earned pennies; but I assure you it is for a fantastic cause.
The team (Ollie, Matthew and I) have challenged ourselves to 'Tab' the Reading half marathon taking place on Sunday 17th March 2013. A Tab, for the non-military amongst you; this includes the RAF and Royal Navy! (not that we are biased!) is basically a loaded march wearing combats and carrying 20kg (44Ibs in old money).
The reason we have decided to choose the Duchess Of Kent House Charity is because it is a small, local charity with no ties to the military. The decision to choose a small civillian charity, close to the garrison, was due to the overwhelming support that the local population that has given our corps (the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) throughout our time at Arborfield. Hopefully this small gesture will go some way to say thank you for making us so welcome and allowing us to integrate fully within the community environment.
Our aim is to complete the march within 3 hours and we have set a target of £300 to raise so please spread the word, give as much as possible and hopefully we can double our target and give something back to a truly great cause.
