Story
“This year is the 20th anniversary of Chorley’s twinning with Szekesfehervar in Hungary, and the 90th Anniversary of The Royal British Legion. To mark the occasion, I am undertaking a sponsored bike ride, starting in Chorley on 1st May 2011. Whilst riding, I’ll be raising money for the Royal British Legion.
The first leg will take me east from Chorley to the ferry terminal in Hull, for the sea crossing to Rotterdam. From Rotterdam, I set off across mainland Europe, through the cycle friendly flatlands of Holland, then on through Germany, the Czech Republic and to Hungary, finally arriving around six weeks later in Szekesfehervar!”
The Royal British Legion’s mission is to put their welfare work at the heart of the organisation and continue to help those who have served and continue to serve our country.
