Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm riding from Paris to London (a distance of approximately 365Km with 4258m of climbing) over the course of four days. I'm raising money for the RAF Benevolent Fund, that provides financial, practical and emotional support to serving and former members of the RAF - regardless of rank - as well as their partners and dependants.
September 2015 marks the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain - a decisive air battle over the skies of England to prevent the German Luftwaffe gaining air superiority and therefore, paving the way for the German invasion of the UK. This ride is designed to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and to recognise the impact that the Spitfire’s revolutionary British engineering had on the Battle of Britain, by cycling the route from Paris to London on cutting edge British cycling technology: the Brompton bicycle.
For those unaware, the Brompton is a 16" foldable bike - the most common use is for the commuter where the bike can easily fold up and fit onto a busy commuter train allowing the commuter to make use of multi modal transport.
I've paid the entry fees for the ride and all money raised will go to the charity.
