Story
At some point last year (possibly after a couple of gins) Rachel and Lu agreed to throw themselves off a mountain. On April 19th 2015, we will be travelling to Bethesda in North Wales and getting strapped onto the northern hemisphere's longest zip wire. A mile long, and reaching up to speeds of 100 mph. (Chances are, we'll need a couple of gins after that. Maybe a couple before as well...)
This is all for a very good cause. We are taking ACTION FOR ASHLEY! Last year, 6 year old Ashley was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Currently this disease is 100% fatal with boys being diagnosed at around the age of 6 before suffering a steady decline into disability. Affected boys lose their mobility aged just 10-12 years old and their young lives are taken in their early 20's, usually due to heart and respiratory failure. Funding is desperately required so that research can be conducted to find a treatment for this devastating illness.
We both have young boys in our families, as many of you do. This could happen to any one of them. Since his diagnosis, Ashley's family have been working tirelessly to raise funds through their ACTION FOR ASHLEY campaign. Please give generously!
