Independent Age is the national charity focused on improving the lives of people facing financial hardship in later life. Our helpline and advisers offer free, practical support to older people and with our grants programme, we support organisations working with older people across the UK.

Story

THE MCDOUGALL'S ARE RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON

We, Rob and Mark, have watched the London Marathon for many years and have been captivated by the spirit in which the race is run, from those who run competitively to those, of varying abilities who run to raise money for charity. We vowed that one day we would run this together.

Last year our mother/grandmother aged 93 moved into a rest home having spent 10 years living alone. During those years she received incredible support and advice from organisations like Independent Age. We have, therefore, taken up the challenge to run the London Marathon as a father and son team on behalf of Independent Age an organisation that does so much towards empowering elderly people to live more fulfilling lives.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, we would very much appreciate your support for this great cause.
