Story
Projects Abroad Tanzania has been working in partnership with local NGOs, health care facilities, and community groups in Arusha for over 10 years.
As our volunteer cooperation programs have come to a halt due to global travel restrictions, our team has decided to launch a project to reduce the impacts and spread of COVID-19 in our community.
There have been over 100 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in Arusha. As a transportation and commercial hub in addition to a high-density population, it is anticipated that the spread of the virus is inevitable without interventions.
To help alleviate the spread of COVID-19, our team has come together to launch a project aimed at providing personal protective equipment for frontline workers, spreading awareness and education, distributing hand washing stations, and direct support in the form of food and other necessities to disadvantaged groups.
Phase 1 of the project will focus on Education and Awareness along with distribution of PPE and hand-washing (tippy tap) stations to high priority sites.
In order for our project to launch, we are appealing for any financial support you can provide. We have a saying in Swahili “Haba na Haba hujaza kibaba”, which means “with little you can do some things, with a lot you can do many things”.
Thank you/Asante Sana!
