PUSHyourself · 18 September 2016
This September, #PUSHyourself will see the Prodigy Learning team race against the clock to see how many miles they can push in static wheelchairs to raise funds for SportsAble.
Based in Maidenhead, UK but with members from all over, SportsAble provides accessible facilities, expert coaching, adapted equipment and volunteer support in 12 different sports and activities 52 weeks of the year.
Disabled people of all ages join for fun, for therapy, for exercise or for serious training for major competitions. “SportsAble changed my life” are the words often heard from members who are Paralympians, young children with disabilities or adults who are disabled following an accident or illness. Carers and families also benefit from being a part of such a positive, friendly and supportive organisation.
The charity needs more than £250,000 to operate each year and will soon embark upon a £6m expansion project to increase the size of the current sports facility so that more disabled people can benefit from more sport, more often.
SportsAble was Prodigy Learning's Charity Partner for the 2016 Adobe ACA UK Championship. At the UK Final, the best of the best UK design students competed to complete by designing a poster to promote this event.
We are delighted to support SportsAble and hope you join us in raising funds for this great cause.
