Our amazing participants are getting tough and muddy to take on the grueling Tough Mudder 2021 to help us to defeat meningitis by 2030!

Story

My friend Jamie's niece was suffering from severe headaches and sickness in the beginning of April 2017. It went undetected, and she died at home of bacterial meningitis a week later on the 10th April.

Caitlin's aunts - Jamie, Cassie and Kelly - have since managed lots of initiatives, to raise as much awareness and money for Meningitis Research Foundation.

This is their latest one - to get a team of ten friends and family to run the Tough Mudder 10K. It covers 25 obstacles, check some of them out here - https://toughmudder.co.uk/obstacles/ - and I'm joining them.

I really hope I do this group proud; I'm genuinely petrified, and I have no idea what it's going to be like, but I hope I raise enough for MRF and in honour of Caitlin.

I'd really appreciate your support - let's help fund the great work MRF do, to defeat meningitis and septicaemia wherever it exists.

Thank you x

Ps no, Alix, I shall not wear a camera strapped to my head, just so you can watch the video and laugh when I plunge into the vat of muddy ice cubes.

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
