Story
Welcome to the 2018 72 hole golf day.
This is an unexpected edition of the event which has raised thousands for charities over the last couple of years.
In May this year one of the Pretty Green members, Keith, gave the news that his wife Carolyn has been diagnosed with a brain tumour. At this time we have no diagnosis or prognosis. So fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
So here came about a fantastic gesture from the Pretty Green members, which I am a part of, have generously donated their time and effort to raise money for the charity of Carolyns choice. So on the 16th June Andy,Dave,Dom,Makis,Mark,Pop,Sean,Steve and Wayne will embark on a tortuous journey playing 72 holes of golf in one day at Normanby Hall Golf Club. Walking here there and everywhere not in a straight line for 15 hours of blood sweat and tears just to put a little ball in a slightly bigger hole.
So here's the charity Carolyn has chosen and her story.
Carolyn has a son, Ben,21, who has Downs Syndrome. Ben has recently gone to visit Linkage College in Grimsby where hopefully he will be going in September. A fantastic place in beautiful surroundings Linkage College provides a high standard of care, specialist further education and and employment services to enable people with learning difficulties to realise their full potential.
So please give as much or as little as you can. All amounts will be very much appreciated for a cause close to Carolyns and Ben's heart in the future.
