Story
We are raising money in Ben's name for Children's Hospice South West (Charlton Farm).
The Pritchard family stayed at Charlton Farm for the last 8 days of Ben's life after a courageous fight with a rare and aggressive brain tumour. Being at Charlton Farm, with it's amazing staff in a beautiful setting meant they were able to just be a family, without worrying about medication, hospital appointments, care needs or chores.
They have memories that will last with them a lifetime and Ben was very happy there despite being very unwell.
Being at the hospice meant they were able to spend precious time with Ben following his death, something that brought a great deal of comfort to the family.
The end of life support offered by CHSW meant that as a family they were better prepared, well informed and fantastically supported for what was the toughest worst imaginable situation anyone should have to face. Doing so alone would have been unbearable but thanks to Charlton Farm, they were never alone and will be eternally grateful.
The Pritchard family want to use their experience to further enhance the amazing facilities at Charlton House, in particular for end of life care and bereavement services. Donations received will help support families like theirs, who never thought for one moment that they would need it.
Ben was a much loved member of Portishead Town football club and will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
