I am lucky enough to work for an incredible charity, the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

I am taking part in a Sponsored Silence in June to raise much needed money for this incredible cause.  

No doubt most of you will be thrilled to hear I have therefore decided to keep my mouth shut for a whopping 8 hours.

I thought long and hard about the charity I wanted to raise money for, as there are so many worthy causes, but I wanted to support the MND Association for the amazing work they do fighting this awful condition. People living with MND gradually lose their ability to speak and communicate with those they love, so taking part in a sponsored silence seems like the best way to truly understand what they go through.

A few sad and shocking facts about Motor Neurone Disease:

·        MND is a fatal, rapidly progressive disease that affects the brain and spinal cord

·        It can leave people locked in a failing body, unable to move, talk and, eventually, breath

·        It kills a third of people within a year and more than half within two years of diagnosis

·        It has no cure.

I would be so honoured if anyone could make a donation, big or small.
