Story

Welcome to Dumb and Dumber the two fools about to embark on the London to Brighton 100km race on behalf of Children with Cancer.

For those of you who know us well you’ll understand why we’re doing this for those of you who don’t or are interested please read on…

Dumb – Stuart Pogson
Dumber – Dave Nuttall

Why is Stuart Dumb?

Well I can tell you it’s because I have great ideas and love to challenge myself, like running down Snowdon in 30 minutes (Dumber also did this).

So why this challenge?

I blame Dumber. He planted a seed in my head that he wanted to do an ultra-marathon in 2013. I saw this race advertised and thought why not!

It would be fun and a big achievement before I’m 40. So in the spirit of good will persuaded Dumber to come along.

Guess I better start training!

Why is Dave Dumber?

Firstly, I am not taking the blame for this but admit I am a sucker for a good run and a challenge and being able to say you have run 100km (or walked 100km) does bring on a smile. So being a regular runner and have run a number of crazy distances (including 50km) this is by far the holy grail of runs, so stupidly I am following Dumb on another poorly thought through crazy challenge.

Why should you sponsor us?

Apart from the fact that you get to laugh at the pain we’ll be in from the beginning to the end. You also get to feel good by helping us support Children with Cancer (without having to do 100km, 62 miles or 2.3 marathons back to back).

We could tell you all about the great work that Children with Cancer do to find cures, provide care and protect children with cancer but they can do it so much better. Please take the time to look at their website, http://www.childrenwithcancer.org.uk/ and read about George, Rose, Ethan and Kai who have all being diagnose with Leukaemia. There are so many touching stories, from too many children and their families. Anything you can give will help improve their young lives.
