Story
It is now over 4 years that we have been lucky enough to be supported by CHECT. As a small charity they work very hard to provide help and advice to the families of children with Retinoblastoma. As well as the support they offer they also work endlessly to raise awareness of RB - not least with the medical profession especially GPs. Any money that is raised we know will be appreciated and used to continue and improve the work that they do.
In 2019 I began my own journey of 'moving' around the roads, since then I've learnt how good my efforts are for me - I'm not the fastest or fittest 'mover' but I enjoy my time outside. In 2019 I completed my first 5k and decided that was far enough for me. For some unknown reason I've now decided that 10k is my next challenge! And so here I am AGAIN asking for any small contribution to help me around Regents Park in July.
When I'm on my 'runs' I often think of Amber's experiences over the last 4 years which in turn gives me a little extra inspiration to keep going. The process of putting on my CHECT running top gives me a greater incentive to keep putting one foot in front of the other. I'm looking forward to 'running' alongside friends and other parents we've met in hospital all wanting to help give something back to CHECT.
