On 7th September 2013 I, along with several friends, will be walking a Marathon from Stonehenge to Avebury to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.

For those of you who don't know I'm a Social Worker working mainly with people who have a diagnosis of dementia, along with their carers and families. Through my work I meet some incredibly brave and interesting people dealing with the everyday challenges that are a part of the illness. I work with people coming to terms with their initial diagnosis to carers at breaking-point on account of their caring role. At present there is no cure for dementia but according to the news this will hopefully not always be the case. The Alzheimer's Society and other voluntary agencies provide invaluable support to those affected by this disease so please dig deep and show your support. Thanks Muchly Pip xx
