Story
Phoebe (8), like many children has missed a significant amount of school over the last year and had certainly found some times during this pandemic very difficult particularly from a mental health point of view. She misses her school friends and the fantastic team at Mosborough Primary school. After Christmas, when she found out that she would not be going back to school until at least after the half term break, she decided she wanted to do something positive, both to help herself mentally and physically, but also to help others. She decided that she wanted to do a walk and decided that she could keep walking until she went back to school. With that in mind she set herself the goal of walking 4 marathons (approximately 105 miles) in the 6 weeks from 10th January until she went back to school in the middle of February (albeit this date has now moved). She is already 48 miles into her challenge and whilst some days are a challenge she is really enjoying it!
We have been fortunate enough not to need to use the Sheffield Children's hospital too much, only for a suspected broken finger, however the work the hospital does is absolutely amazing and Phoebe wanted to do something to help other children who do need to use the hospital either occasionally or on a regular basis
