Story

The Donkey Sanctuary has had a place close to my heart for many years

I have been fascinated by Donkeys and Mules since I was very young. It always amazed me how animals so small in size, could in fact be capable of being some of the most strong and determined animals.

But it broke my heart seeing how these animals are used and abused and just left to fend for themselves once they are considered to be no longer of any use.

No animal should have to endure pain and suffering at the hands of any human being. They deserve to be treated with compassion and love just as much as humans.

That’s why I have chosen to run of behalf of The Donkey Sanctuary. The charity’s  continued efforts worldwide to help those donkeys and mules who are in need of some love and compassion. And to feel like they can live out the rest of their lives in a safe environment and feel secure that they won’t ever have to worry about not being loved again, and will be able to live out the days of their retirement in peace.

The work in which the charity strive to achieve globally is amazing. Their main aim is to strive to work towards a world where both donkeys and mules live free from suffering.

On a more personal note, I have chosen to run the London Marathon for the memory of my Grandad. Through out his whole working life, he donated as much as he could to the Donkey Sanctuary.

I remember ever since I was young, that he always had a collection box on the windowsill. I’d like to do my best and in a small way ensure that his memory and legacy can live on. I’d like to be able to help give back to a cause in which he loved so dearly.

That is why I have chosen to run the Virgin London Marathon 2022 for The Donkey Sanctuary.

Any help or donation towards this challenge and amazing charity will be more than greatly appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story x
