A little bit about Macmillan......

As treatments improve, more and more people are living with cancer in their daily lives. This means they need more than medical help, they also need practical, emotional and financial support.

My reasons......

Last year I was touched by the work that the Macmillan nurses do and the support they gave to my family. It takes a special kind of person to do this job and I would like to thank them by giving something back. 

There are so many families who have to deal with cancer at some point in their lives and Macmillan offer support to everyone. Not just the practical day to day organising, but also emotional support to the patients and their families.

I want everyone to know about the work that these nurses do and how vital they are in difficult times by providing comfort and bringing happiness to those affected by Cancer.

Please give generously and help Macmillan continue to make a difference. 

My Event

I am taking part in the Abu Dhabi Triathlon 2011 which is held on the 12th March. The race begins next to the famous Emirates Palace and consists of a swim, bike then run.

I am currently in training with my partner in crime Lucy Atherton and we are slowly but surely adjusting to life as triathletes!!

I will be updating this page with photos of us preparing for the big event, we would really like your support to get us through this and to make all the blood, sweat and (many) tears worth while!

I am also raising money to cover the cost of a racing bike for the event, which will be sold afterwards and the funds given to Macmillan. If anyone would like to donate towards the bike please contact me separately on philippadxb@gmail.com

We will be running in the Dubai Standard Chartered 10km Race in 3 weeks time so I will keep you posted with our pics!! This is just a warm up practice for the big day, 9 weeks to go ...............
