Dear Friends.
As the photo proves I actually ran the BUPA 10k on the 30 May to raise money for the The Benji Hillman Foundation but you still have time to sponsor me. The Benji Hillman Foundation was set up in August 2006 to support lone combat soldiers and soldiers from deprived backgrounds in the Israeli Army.
Your donation will help to build Habayit Shel Benji (Benji's Home), the Foundation's flagship project, which is being established to provide all the comforts of home for soldiers who otherwise have no homes to go to when on leave - a clean bed, good food, a surrogate family and a supportive ear. It also aims to offer education and vocational support to lone soldiers during and after their army service.
The Foundation is named after Major Benji Hillman who was killed in Lebanon on 20 July 2006 leading his troops into battle. Hillman had an unstinting sense of responsibility toward the soldiers under his command, particularly the lone soldier. He was born in London, made aliyah with his family in 1983 and joined the Israeli Army in 1998.

Donations will be send to the the Foundation through the JNF in the UK.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you - Philippa
