On the 8th September I will be taking part in the Great North Run, running 13.1 miles starting from Newcastle city centre and finishing on South Shields beach. My aim is to raise as much as possible to support the work of a wonderful charity called 'Sara's Hope Foundation' 

"Our aim is to provide holiday breaks for children living with cancer, giving them smiles, hope and precious memories"

The Sara’s Hope Foundation was started by Ged and Julie Hoburn after they tragically lost their 16 year old daughter, Sara, to cancer. Inspired by Sara’s bravery and positive attitude, the foundation successfully manages a holiday retreat in Crete offering respite for children and young people with cancer and their families. The money raised gives families a much needed break from long hospital stays, traumatic medical procedures and cancer related treatments. The retreat allows for much needed quality time recuperating and enjoying life as 'normal' as possible.
