In order to raise money to send a group of WWII veterans on a final trip to Monte Cassino with their families and carers, a group of amateur vets players (including myself) are taking on a team of ex-internationals at the Honorable Artillery Company ground in the City of London.

As well as the game, which is preceded by an Armed Forces Combined team against the City League Vets, there's a gala dinner and charity auction with lots of celebrity guests throwing their collective weight behind this fantastic cause.

All of the money is going to these old boys' last commemorative excursion, and absolutely none will go towards the specialist medical care I'll inevitably need after the match. Any money you can spare would be gratefully recieved, and would contribute to what promises to be a genuinely special experience for these deserving veterans.
