Story
Phil and Danny, work colleagues from OBG Pharmaceuticals, are raising money for Alder Hey Children’s Charity by taking on an epic trek challenge in October; The Inca Trail.
At an altitude of 3,300m, they will have to acclimatise before making their way through high mountain passes, the highest being 4,200m. It will be a tough 53km challenge over 5 days, but for such a worthy cause.
Both Phil & Danny work in Alder Hey’s home city. However it’s particularly important to them as Phil’s son was looked after by Alder Hey Children’s Hospital when under investigation for a rare immune syndrome disease, which his wife suffers from. Thankfully, he was given the all clear so when Phil saw the chance to give something back to this life saving cause, he jumped at the chance.
Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises vital funds to help make Alder Hey Children's Hospital a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital for the 275,000 patients and families they care for every year.
The charity helps to fund a range of activities and projects that are designed to enhance and improve the lives of their amazing young patients. This includes: the funding of specialist medical equipment, a range of programmes and special projects such as on site ward magicians, musicians and play specialists; a ground-breaking ward-based chefs programme for their patients; and to support cutting edge research.
Phil & Danny will also be doing lots of different events in the run up to their main challenge to raise as much as possible, so please recognise their efforts, donate and share to make a crucial difference to young lives.
