Update: if you have been following my IG page you will be aware, I have been working with a new coach who has recommended we move the first timer competition to start of 2024.

After being made homeless during my final year of school I lived in a couple of hostels before thankfully being taken in by the YMCA, who provided a safe environment to live in and ongoing support while there.
The YMCA provides “safe, affordable places to live that feel like home and focus on community spirit and togetherness. Our approach to support is based on strengths, and our residents are always at the centre of their own support plans.”
Unfortunately, there are still many young people today in similar situations who rely on the support of organisations like the YMCA.
In order to give back, I have done a couple of small fundraising rounds, delivering food and household goods to the YMCA I lived in as a teen but have been considering how I can do more and have decided on challenging myself by entering a bodybuilding competition, with a view to gain sponsors/donations along the way. I am back training regularly since becoming very overweight primarily during lockdown but still have a fair bit of work to do to be competitive.
This will be the first time I have ever competed in a bodybuilding competition.
All support is highly appreciated whether it be a donation or raising awareness ☺️
